! October Training Session in Pretoria (Meraka)

The first all user training in South Africa will take place at the Meraka campus from October 20 to October 24. This is the planning page for this event. It will not be required to have site operators from

Overview and agenda

We will have a group of tutors from GILDA in Catania and the CNRS present at the tutorial. We aim for a good participation from the sites around Gauteng :

• Wits
• University of Johannesburg
• Meraka, C4, CSIR
• University of Pretoria
• UNISA

but if others can make it from Cape Town, Durban and elsewhere, that would be good. We would like very much if our own South African services can be used during the tutorial : UI, WMS, CE, SE, etc. This means that we have to work hard in week 41 and week 42 to prepare these services.

Agenda

The invitation was sent out on Friday 3 October. We need to install indico on sagrid.ac.za and have the agenda posted up there, along with the registration page.

Fixing site services

We have week 42 and week 43 to fix the site services. We would like to concentrate on the WMS first (6-8 Nov) and then have at least one SE and CE at a single site working (UFS is the obvious candidate)

We need to have the list of availability of site personnel to work in a dedicated way on these problems. Site operators, please fill in your availability
