Training Material

SAGrid runs regular training sessions in collaboration with GILDA (Grid INFN Laboratory for Dissemination Activities). The presentations made at these training sessions are always kept in the event management system (Indico) and digital repository (Invenio) of SAGrid. EGEE has standard training presentations which are given at all training workshops, including those run in combination with SAGrid, by GILDA. The training material is usually divided into two types :

  • Site administrator training
  • User training
There are also special application porting events which will be run in the future for SAGrid and Brain Gain project beneficiaries.

Training workshop presentations

The training section of the SAGrid events manager at http://indico.sagrid.ac.za/categoryDisplay.py?categId=1 has linked from each event the timetable and presentations given during the course of the event. Users or site admins can now download the presentations and follow the course in their own time. Once the training course has been completed, support can be requested via the GILDA support system or the SAGrid support system, depending on the issue

Official GILDA training material

The GILDA project wiki has the training courses, exercises and other material needed for users and site admins. See https://grid.ct.infn.it/twiki/bin/view/GILDA/WebHome

GILDA Training Infrastructure

The GILDA training grid can be used by everyone, providing they have a user certificate. This infrastructure is provided on a best-effort basis, in order to get practice and better understanding of how the grid works, after taking a training course and for running the user tutorials. For more information, please see https://gilda.ct.infn.it/users.html
